MICHELE GIANOTTI

I was born on June 21st 1965;  since I was a child I developed two passions: drawing and martial arts.
During my scientific  high school studies I attended night courses at the Castello Sforzesco Art school with a specialisation in illustrations  and cartoons. At that time I was studying  judo with  Master Ubaldo Paschini.
I took the degree in architecture at the Politecnico University of Architecture of Milan, where I had the opportunity to attend courses held by prestigious architects such as Achille Castiglioni and Thomas Maldonado. After the degree I  completed a master in bio-architecture and feng shue at the Umanitaria.
My passion for martial arts developed further when I approached chinese martial arts with Master Mario Mandrà (Kung Fu mantide religiosa,
praying mantis) and then  moved to Taiji Chen with  Master Marcello Sidoti with whom I became teacher. Currently I continue my  studies on the  Hong method with  Master Tino Wong,  attending his training courses for teachers and teaching myself in two gyms.
In 2010 I created a sporting and cultural association  named "Le Nuvole Combattenti" (The Fighting Clouds).
My architectural projects long at expanding the possibility to benefit from a "customised" or Monadic  architecture which differentiates itself on one side  from  monumental architecture, inspired by self-celebration, and on the other side from wide-spread architecture, where project inspiration comes from a culture of materiality dominated by industrial productions.
On the contrary,  the architecture I interpret lives and expresses itself differently in every single project, with no need to celebrate appearance  but rather with the pleasure of offering a tailored habitat.
My projects represent the integration and synthesis of all ideas, ghosts, pre-existing inspirations of the individual, and the space where the latter has a  desire to live or work.  My projects interpret, through a single filter,  all these elements leaving only few, pure, essential signs, archetypes, to last.

frequento oltre al liceo scientifico la scuola d'arte serale del Castello Sforzesco con indirizzo illustrazione e fumetto, pratico judo col Maestro Ubaldo Paschini.

Dopo il Politecnico di Milano dove partecipo ai corsi di prestigiosi maestri quali Achille Castiglioni e Thomas Maldonado frequento un master di bioarchitettura e feng shue presso l'umanitaria.

Inizio ad avvicinarmi alle arti marziali cinesi con il maestro Mario Mandrà (kun fu mantide religiosa) passando al taiji chen col maestro Marcello Sidoti con il quale divento istruttore, attualmente studio con il maestro Tino Wong il metodo Hong del  taiji chen con cui sto frequentando il corso istruttori e insegno presso due palestre, nel 2010 fondo l'associazione culturale sportiva le nuvole combattenti.

Il mio lavoro progettuale è teso ad estendere  la possibilità di usufruire di un’architettura “su misura”; un’architettura Monadica, che si differenzia sia dall’architettura monumentale, che nasce sulla base della celebrazione, sia dall’architettura diffusa, che opera all’interno della cultura materiale ovvero della produzione industriale. In quanto autoreferenziale ha una chiave interpretativa limitata al caso specifico, non deve mostrare se stessa bensì dare un habitat ad un soggetto.

Il progettista deve inizialmente fare da accumulatore, caricarsi di tutte le idee, i fantasmi e gli stimoli preesistenti nel soggetto e sul luogo da progettare per poi catalizzarli e filtrarli in pochi segni essenziali, archetipici.
